Collectors plan the Concours around one flagship Sunday, then fill the surrounding days with drives, dinners and smaller gatherings. The hard part is rarely the cars on the lawn. It is moving a group through early starts, long hours outdoors and a late return. A well-built luxury van can make that rhythm calmer, and it keeps working for you long after August.
This guide focuses on the confirmed date and practical planning. Admission, credentials, parking and any road access are separate from owning a vehicle, and each one depends on the organizer's current rules.
What is officially confirmed for 2027
- Date and edition: The official Concours event page lists the 76th Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance on Sunday, Aug. 15, 2027, from 5:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Concours home page confirms the same Sunday date.
- Day schedule: The event page shows the show field opening at 5:30 a.m. to spectators with a credential, judging starting at 8 a.m., and the awards ceremony from 1:30 to 5 p.m.
- Location: The official ticket page lists The Lodge at Pebble Beach, 1700 17 Mile Dr, Pebble Beach, CA.
- Road closures: The directions and parking page currently says 17-Mile Drive will be closed Aug. 12 to 15, 2027 to traffic not related to the Concours, with entry for people attending associated activities. The page also says details will continue to update.
That closure note is not a promise that any van receives entry or a parking space. Revisit the official directions and parking guidance close to the event and follow it exactly.
A three-part plan around the flagship Sunday
1. The days before: arrival and lighter events
Many visitors arrive earlier in the week. Choose those days only after checking each organizer's own published dates and admission rules, since a full week schedule is not set out here. Use the van for the drive in, airport pickups, and relaxed dinners where the group travels together instead of coordinating several cars.
2. Sunday: an early start and a long day outdoors
A 5:30 a.m. field opening means a dark, cool departure. Pack the van the night before:
- Layers. Coastal mornings can feel chilly before warming up. Keep jackets and a change of shoes within reach.
- Credentials and documents. Assign one person to hold tickets, credentials and any official instructions.
- Refreshments. Water and light snacks for the ride help after hours on your feet.
- A meeting plan. Agree on drop-off and pickup points that follow the official guidance, and confirm them by text.
3. After the awards: the return
The ceremony runs until 5 p.m., and roads around major events are slow. This is where the cabin earns its keep. Passengers can sit comfortably, charge phones and talk over the day's favorites instead of squeezing into rideshares.
Hosting clients without a crowded car
For business owners, the drive is part of the hospitality. Before buying a van for this kind of use, test it as a meeting space:
- Can four or more adults face each other or talk without raising their voices?
- Is there a sensible place for bags and jackets so seats stay clear?
- Are the controls for lighting and climate easy for passengers to use?

Quick planning checklist
| Item | Who confirms it | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Admission and credentials | Concours organizer | Separate from the vehicle |
| Driving route and closures | Official directions page | Recheck close to the event |
| Parking or drop-off | Official guidance | No space is implied by owning a van |
| Lodging | Your own reservation | Confirm vehicle size limits at the property |
| Surrounding events | Each event organizer | Dates and rules vary |
The honest tradeoffs
A large van is less nimble than a sedan on narrow streets and in tight lots, and parking rules for larger vehicles can differ. If your group is two people, a smaller car may be simpler. The van makes most sense when four or more people travel together often, for events, family trips and client outings throughout the year.
