Passenger capacity is the first filter
The current Ultimate RV page lists seating for up to 10 and sleeping for two. Its published layout uses four captain’s chairs and two rear benches that convert into a bed. That appeals when the van carries a larger family, clients or friends by day but supports two overnight occupants.
The current Strada-ion page lists up to seven seats for the Lounge and five for the Tour, with sleeping for two. That may suit buyers who value overnight systems and a less crowded cabin over maximum seating.

Both have a wet bath, but details matter
Each current page describes a wet bath, where the toilet and shower share a waterproof compartment. Stand inside with the door closed. Check elbow room, ventilation, drain performance, toilet access after showering and the nighttime path from bed to bathroom.

The Strada-ion makes a stronger battery claim
Grech’s current page lists a 51-volt, 20,480Wh Grech Power MAX system and advertises up to 16 hours of battery-powered air conditioning. Treat runtime as a manufacturer claim, not a guarantee. Actual time depends on weather, thermostat setting, battery health, other loads and shade.
The Ultimate RV page lists lithium capacity, inverter, generator and shore-power equipment. Do not translate an amp-hour number into A/C runtime without confirming battery voltage and exact wiring. Package details can vary, making the build sheet and equipment labels essential.

Compare the complete charging system
Battery capacity alone does not show how fast a van recovers after a night off-grid. Identify alternator charging, shore charger, solar controller, installed panels, generator and battery-management limits. Ask the seller to demonstrate each source.
Review fault history and service records. For proprietary controls, confirm current parts availability and the nearest trained service option.
Ride quality needs a back-seat test
Grech currently lists air suspension as standard. That is meaningful, but tire pressure, loading, wheelbase, seating position and cabinet construction still influence the ride.
Sit in the rear over patched pavement and expansion joints. Listen for cabinetry, check body motion and see whether conversation stays easy. Then drive the van and test maneuvering, crosswinds and braking.
For the Ultimate RV, identify the exact suspension installed. Do not assume a used van matches current production or a dealer description.
Service and warranty have two layers
Each vehicle combines a Mercedes-Benz chassis with a separate conversion. Obtain chassis warranty status, conversion warranty terms and component warranties. For a used unit, learn what transfers and whether modifications affect support.
Confirm who handles chassis diagnostics, recalls, air suspension, house batteries, charging, plumbing, appliances, climate equipment, cabinetry and multiplex controls. Ask whether likely shops can accommodate a converted vehicle about 24 feet long with roof equipment.
Keep the VIN, build number, appliance models and wiring diagrams together. Documentation is part of the value.
Which buyer fits each van?
The Ultimate RV is the more natural shortlist when you regularly need more belted passenger positions and still want a wet bath and bed for two. The Strada-ion is the more natural shortlist when five to seven seats are enough and its published battery, ride and camping equipment fit your overnight plans.
Neither conclusion replaces an exact-unit comparison. A well-maintained older van with full records may beat a newer van with unclear modifications.
